The health and safety of our patients and team members has been and always will be our #1 priority. As a healthcare facility, we maintain the highest standard of infection prevention and control. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have enhanced our protocols and PPE to ensure we are able to remain open for our patients.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): In order to provide dental care during this time, all clinical staff must wear the proper protective equipment for the anticipated procedure. PPE includes but is not limited to: professionally fit-tested N95 masks or respirators, gloves, protective eyewear, face shields, and gowns.
Surgically Clean Air Units: Treatment that requires the use of any dental equipment that creates aerosols poses a higher risk for transmission of COVID-19. With the six-stage filtration and sterilization process of our Surgically Clean Air Units, the virus particles are absorbed, destroyed, and evacuated, allowing us to provide a more ideal and clean environment.
Closed Door Policy for Treatment: Treatment requiring the use of dental equipment that creates aerosols must be done in a room with floor-to-ceiling walls and a door which is to remain closed during treatment. Several of our clinical rooms have been modified to meet these parameters.
Plexiglass Barriers at Front Desk: To protect both our team members and out patients, plexiglass barriers have been installed at the front desk and reception area to limit the contact between us and our patients.
Waiting Room / Social Distancing: Our new protocols limit the number of patients that will be allowed in the waiting room at one time. We have reduced the number of chairs available and have arranged them all so they are the appropriate 6 feet apart. We have removed all non-essential items from the waiting room, such as our popcorn machine, photobooth, magazines, coffee maker, plants, and toys. We have increased the number of hand sanitizer bottles available to be used by patients when entering the office. All patients are required to remain 6 feet apart from team members when checking in and out.
Extensive Screening: We are screening all patients for COVID-19 symptoms, beginning on the phone when booking the appointment, when arriving at the office at check-in, and completing a consent form.
