What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

The life lessons I have learned thus far have nurtured positivity and well-being, and are always a work in progress. There are so many but the ones that stand out to me the most are the following:

  1. Embrace life’s challenges – Things don’t always go according to plan, and you never know when you get a curve ball thrown at you! Whether it be with family, work or health issues, there are always choices you make on how to deal with it. I have learned that by moving forward with positivity to accept and embrace life’s challenges helps to keep focused on the things that are most important on the forefront, like health and family.
  1. It happens – Whatever the “it” is do your part by taking responsibility for your actions and behaviour and accountability for what you can control. Over time I have narrowed my 3 go-to’s in these situations: Reflect, regroup and move on! Learn from them and “let go”.

Be grateful for friends and family that hold a special place in your heart, even our four legged furry ones, and the one’s who have passed on. They have been there through different phases and pivotal moments with unconditional love and support. Whether it is fond memories or current time, let them know how thankful you are!

  1. Remember your manners – Please and thank you are the basics our parents taught us. What you say and do are reflections of who you are as a person. We meet so many people in our lifetime, and only have one shot at making a good first impression. People enjoy being around others that make them feel good by treating others in the way you want to be treated. It’s a feel good thing for me and is simply a part of day to day interactions.
